On August 12 he crashed our servers when he tweeted to the world (or at least the 600,000 of them that follow him on Twitter) about our vehicle. Just a week later, Actor Nathan Fillion and Castle co-star Jon Huertas flew up to our little city of Eugene early Saturday to kick the tires and take our latest prototype out on the road.

One way to beat the heat in 90 degree Portland weather is to drive Proto4 around downtown all afternoon. We've found that the absence of a windshield negates the need for air conditioning. We made the 100-mile trip north Monday morning after receiving the following text from Mark at 6pm Sunday evening: "We are going to Portland tomorrow."

What a sight! Eleven Oregon-made electric vehicles, ranging from one wheel to four, were on display Wednesday night in the parking lot of our next-door neighbor, the Pizza Research Institute. The event was Pizza, Peers, and Prototypes, and it was the largest showcase of electric vehicles and components from Drive Oregon companies yet assembled.

Well we just completed a whirlwind tour down to San Jose, and it's high time I wrote about it. As a semi-finalist in the Cleantech Open (CTO) competition, we were invited to present our wares at the CTO conference on July 22, followed by the CTO Academy on July 23-25.

Yes, that's how long we've had our heads down developing the next design iteration of the Pulse. We're happy to report that we've now entered the build phase for the Generation 4 prototype. This latest prototype will incorporate major improvements to the drivetrain and electrical systems, resulting in better traction and handling and opening up options for improved mechanical systems throughout the vehicle.

We're finalizing the list of cities we will be visiting in the New Year for Arcimoto's 2010 Test Drive Events, but we wanted to open up the choices to the public.

We've parked the all-electric Arcimoto Pulse in front of Macy's at the Valley River Center Mall so you can see the future of transportation while you do your holiday shopping. No need to rush - the Pulse will be at the mall all weekend and our staff will be there this Saturday and Sunday to answer questions.

The Arcimoto Pulse was at the University of Oregon on November 19th. One lucky student - kurbizzle - took some footage of Trevor backing the Pulse into Lillis, the University of Oregon's business college.

Mark Frohnmayer, founder of Arcimoto, recently sat down with Clean Oregon, an Oregon website focusing on news stories regarding the emerging green/cleantech business cluster in Oregon. Mark and Clean Oregon had a chance to speak about the future of transportation (Transportation 2.0).
